What is a Hardware Wallet?

A hardware wallet is a tamper-proof special electronic device that securely stores the private keys of a particular cryptocurrency in an offline setting.

Hardware wallets are immune from malware and computer viruses. Since a hardware wallet stores your private keys offline, there is no possibility of getting hacked. To date there has been no reported theft or loss of bitcoins from a hardware wallet.

What hardware wallet should I use? Depending on the cryptocurrencies you hold you may be limited on your decision. The two leading hardware wallets in the industry are the Trezor and Ledger Nano S. Checkout each to determine which is right for you.

If you have you want to securely store your cryptocurrency seriously consider a hardware wallet.
